Wart Removal

Warts are a prevalent condition that pose both physical and emotional problems for those affected

  • Warts are local growths on the skin that are caused by human papilliomavirus (HPV).
  • Can cause pain or discomfort
  • Often perceived as a social stigma because of the unsightly appearance of the warts.
  • Can cause embarrassment and diminish the quality of life by inhibiting routine social activities.
  • Warts typically disappear on their own with time, but it may take years.
  • They are highly contagious, so hygiene is of the utmost importance if you are affected.

There are many different types of warts, the ones we can most commonly treat are:

  • The familiar type of dome-shaped warts which are found on the backs of fingers, toes, and knees.
  • Flat (“plane”) warts may arise on the face or legs.
  • Periungual warts are warts around  the nail.
  • Filiform warts typically appear as a single long stalk, often on the face.

How does it work?

The laser cuts off the blood supply to the wart, without damaging the healthy tissue around it. Warts usually have a black or crusty appearance 24hrs post treatment. 1-3 treatments can be required.

Laser Genesis / Skin rejuvenation

Laser genesis is an innovative, technologically advanced way to promote vibrant and healthy looking skin in men and women. Now you can have a more youthful appearance by treating those conditions that are typically associated with premature signs of aging and sun damage, such as excessive redness, large pores, uneven texture and fine line wrinkles. The laser genesis system has been scientifically proven to produce new collagen. A patch test will be needed prior to the commencement of treatment. During the consultation our highly trained therapists will explain what is involved, consultation is free.

Vein Removal

We treat a broad range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely, and effectively. Patients with dark, light or tanned skin can experience outstanding results with minimal bruising or blistering.

How does Thread Vein Removal work?

The laser system delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.

Can anyone have the treatment done?

The Cutera Laser System features a unique design and long wavelength that allows treatment of patients of all skin tones. Your therapist will advise you if Vein Therapy is right for you.

What types of veins can be treated?

We can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or “telangiectasia”) can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and purple leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. Our therapists are trained to the highest standards and will be able to advise you on your treatment during a free consultation.

How does this compare to Sclerotherapy?

We have found that we achieve excellent results with our laser system. We have the technology to work with a wide range of parameters allowing us to treat many different types of veins. Many of our clients have preferred the laser treatment as there are no painful injections involved.

How many treatments will I need?

Usually a minimum of two treatments are required. However, the number of treatments necessary depends on the number, color, and size of the vessels being treated. Since individual results vary, ask your therapist about your specific condition during your free consultation.

Do the treatments hurt?

Most patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the hand piece. Although no local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required, many patients opt to use a topical anesthetic prior to treatment. Following the treatment, the pain is minimal to nonexistent.

What happens after the treatment?

Following your treatment, some redness or bruising may occur. When larger veins are treated such as on the legs, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months following treatment. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a short period of time.

What are the possible side effects?

Although many patients report few if any side effects, those most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. These effects typically last for less than 24 hours. Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur. During your free consultation your therapist will give you complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

Patients generally resume most normal activities immediately. However, it is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities such as strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun. As always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure.

When will I see results?

Most patients find that the majority of the treated veins have shown significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months. Over time, it is possible for new thread veins to appear, but these too can be removed with the Cutera CoolGlide Laser System.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser works by selectively heating the target (the hair) while preserving the surrounding tissue. Permanent hair reduction is achieved by using heat to disable the hair follicle and therefore over time preventing regrowth. Usually a series of treatments are carried out for optimal long term benefits, the number of treatments required depends on the skin type and the hair growth. A patch test will be needed prior to the commencement of treatment. Prices start at €90 and vary depending on the area being treated. Our qualified therapists will explain the process in full detail with you during the consultation, which is free of charge.

Fungal Nail Treatment

Nail fungus, also called onychomycosis, is a common condition estimated to affect up to 10% of the population worldwide. It can cause nails to become yellow or discolored. As the infection advances the nail can become thick, brittle and separate from the nail bed. It can also cause pain when wearing shoes or walking.

What is GenesisPlus?

GenesisPlus is a Nd:YAG 1064nm laser that has been cleared* to be both a safe and effective solution for the treatment of nail infection (onychomycosis), more commonly known as toenail fungus. This laser is also a safe and effective treatment for scar reduction and warts.

What causes nail infection? (onychomycosis)

Dermatophytes are the fungi most commonly responsible for causing this condition. They are specialized organisms that live off of keratin which is the main component of nails and skin. The most common fungi that cause nail infection disease are Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Candida albicans. Everyone is at risk for infection because fungus is present everywhere in the environment.

Where does nail infection come from?

Nail infection is caused by contact with dermatophytes which are everywhere in our environment. Common sources of infection include swimming pools, public showers, gyms and nail spas. Tight fitting shoes and nail trauma can also lead to infection. Genetic susceptibility, poor health and increasing age are also factors that increase the risk of nail infection.

What are the symptoms of nail infection?

You may suffer from nail infection (onychomycosis) if you have one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Discolored nails
  • Yellow streaks under the nail
  • Distorted or thickened nails
  • Brittle, crumbly or ragged nail
  • Nails separated from the underlying skin
  • Buildup of debris (nail fragments, skin) under the nail
  • White spots or streaks on the nail surface

What treatments are available for nail infections?

Current treatment options for nail infection include oral drugs, topical drugs and laser. No single treatment is effective in all patients and there are risks and benefits associated with each one. Be sure to discuss all your treatment options with your doctor. Oral drugs can be very effective in eliminating nail infections and restoring clear nails. The drugs must be taken for 6 to 12 weeks and may cause side effects including headache, diarrhea, upset stomach and skin rash. Serious side effects include risk of liver damage and heart failure. Weekly blood tests may be required to monitor liver function. These drugs are not used for patients in poor health or who have liver disease. Topical drugs are less effective in treating nail infections and restoring clear nails. The drugs are applied directly to the nails daily for up to 12 months. In some patients, the drug is ineffective because it cannot pass through the nail to reach the infection. There are no significant side effects. Laser treatments are effective in eliminating nail infections and restoring clear nails. Most patients experience at least some improvement. During treatment most patients experience a warm feeling in their toes.

What can you expect?

The treatment involves passing the laser beam over the infected nails and surrounding skin. Your physician will repeat this several times until enough energy has reached the nail bed. Your nail will feel warm during the treatment.

Treatment Session Time

A single treatment session takes approximately 20 minutes to treat 5-10 nails.

Treatment times will vary, so please ask your doctor for more information.

Number of Treatments

Most patients show improvement after one treatment. The required number of treatments will vary depending on how severely each digit is infected.

Before the Procedure

It is important to remove all nail polish and decorations the day before the procedure.

During the Procedure

Most patients describe the procedure as being comfortable with a small hot pinch at the end that resolves quickly.

After the Procedure

Immediately following the procedure your nail may feel warm for a few minutes. The majority of patients can resume normal activities immediately. Long Term If the treatment is successful, as the nail grows you will see new, healthy nail. Nails grow slowly, so it may take up to 12 months to see an entirely clear nail.

Treatment Cost: Special reduced price for a limited period, now only €150, normally €300
